Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History and What’s Driving the Costs Up

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices ever seen for the game. Only those willing to spend a lot of money will be able to attend this year's Super Bowl.

As of Thursday, the lowest priced individual ticket available was $8,000 on the ticket resale website TickPick. This ticket would provide you with a seat in the upper 300 section, but it is important to mention that the website guarantees that you will have a seat.

If the current prices remain steady, this year's Super Bowl ticket may become the most costly in history. The 2020 Super Bowl holds the title for the highest-priced tickets, with an average purchase price of $6,370. One of the main reasons for the high prices that year was that the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, were competing. However, this year, the home team is not playing, which may contribute to the high ticket prices.

The upcoming Super Bowl in Las Vegas is the first of its kind and is causing ticket prices to rise, as fans are eager to experience a weekend in Sin City followed by the world's biggest sporting event.

In case you were curious, the average price for a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The location of the game is an important factor for fans of the 49ers, as shown by StubHub data. A large percentage of ticket sales, 26%, come from California, where fans have a shorter distance to travel to see their team play. In comparison, fans from Kansas and Missouri only make up a total of 7% of ticket sales on the site.

Don't forget about the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event might attract more female fans than usual.

The 65,000 seat Allegiant Stadium will be filled to capacity no matter how you enter. The kickoff for Super Bowl 58 is scheduled for Sunday, February 11th at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
