The Future of CMA Fest: How the New Nissan Stadium Will Change the Country Music Experience

  • by

In the coming years, the CMA Fest may undergo significant changes due to the Tennessee Titans planning to build a new stadium. This development could potentially alter the traditional format of the festival.

The festival's main shows have been held at Nissan Stadium for many years, but they will be relocated to a new venue once it is finished.

The Country Music Association intends to keep collaborating with the Tennessee Titans during CMA Fest each year. They are excited to host country music fans at the new stadium in Nashville for the nightly concerts.

A new stadium, called the New Nissan Stadium, will be constructed on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, located east of the current Nissan Stadium. Construction is expected to start this year, and the stadium is anticipated to open in 2027.

Fans of country music can still reach the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by crossing the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.

The new stadium for the Titans will be enclosed and focused on providing fans with a better experience. It will have panoramic views of Nashville, a see-through roof, and a large community space that can be utilized throughout the year.

CMA Fest is a popular event for country music fans that was first held in 1972 under the name Fan Fair. Originally starting with 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium, it has grown into a major annual event in the country music world. Every year, thousands of people from around the world come to Music City to watch over 250 performances on nine different stages.
