In the upcoming years, CMA Fest will undergo changes due to the Tennessee Titans receiving a new stadium. This will impact the way the festival is currently organized and experienced.
For many years, the main shows of the festival have taken place at Nissan Stadium, but they will be relocated to the new venue once construction is finished.
The Country Music Association intends to keep collaborating with the Tennessee Titans for events during CMA Fest each year. They are excited to host country music fans in Nashville for the nightly concerts at the new stadium.
A new stadium, appropriately called the New Nissan Stadium, is going to be constructed to the east of the current Nissan Stadium on the East Bank of the Cumberland River. The construction is planned to start this year and the stadium is expected to open in 2027.
Fans of country music can still reach the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by using the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
In contrast to where the Titans currently play, the new stadium will be indoors and focused on providing fans with an enhanced experience. It will offer sweeping views of Nashville, a see-through roof, and 12,000 square feet of communal space that can be utilized throughout the year.
CMA Fest, originally known as Fan Fair, started in 1972 as a way for country music fans to come together. It has grown from a small gathering of 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium to a large annual event that attracts tens of thousands of guests from around the world. Over 250 acts perform on nine stages during the festival, making it a must-see event for country music enthusiasts.
The CMA Fest 2024 will take place from June 6-9 in the heart of Nashville.
