Reba McEntire Reunites with ‘Reba’ Team for New Sitcom: What to Expect from the Country Star’s Return to TV

Reba McEntire is returning to television by working with the team from her previous sitcom "Reba."

Following her time as a coach on the reality TV show The Voice, McEntire is now working with NBC on a new comedy pilot that has not yet been given a title.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the show focuses on a character played by McEntire who unexpectedly becomes the owner of her father's restaurant. She is not happy to learn that she now has to run the business with a half-sister she never knew existed.

McEntire will work together again with experienced showrunner Kevin Abbott, who has worked on popular shows like Last Man Standing, Roseanne, and The Golden Girls.

According to reports, Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis, who previously worked as executive producers on Reba, will be joining Reba McEntire on her new comedy series on NBC.

NBC has recently ordered their first pilot for 2024 following the conclusion of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

The singer known for the song "Fancy" made her television debut in the early 2000s with the successful sitcom Reba, which aired for six seasons from 2001 to 2007.

In the show, McEntire played the role of a mother from Texas who is dealing with the breakdown of her marriage, her husband's affair, and her daughter's pregnancy during her teenage years.

Reba is still being shown on the Hallmark Channel through syndication.

During the year 2012, McEntire appeared in the ABC show Malibu Country, which did not last long and also featured Lily Tomlin and Sara Rue.

In 2022, she made an appearance in Season 3 of the television show Big Sky on ABC.
