6 Haunting Last Performances: Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Daryle Singletary + Others

George Jones was aware that his performance was his last. On the other hand, Daryle Singletary was unaware, which added an eerie element to the song he selected to close the night.

Following the passing of Merle Haggard, there was a popular story circulating about Toby Keith assisting him in exiting the stage with dignity. However, this story turned out to be false. Toby Keith was not present at Haggard's final performance, and the individual who spread this misinformation was also absent.

In reality, actor W. Earl Brown was not present at the event where Keith helped Haggard finish. He had only heard about it from someone else.

Taste of Country found a review of Merle Haggard's last concert, where they uncovered a touching moment that deserved as much recognition as the Toby Keith hero story. This moment is one of six final concert memories discussed in the video and images provided.

The video includes John Denver's final performance, Johnny Cash's last song, and Waylon Jennings' made-for-TV farewell performance.

We really enjoy the Singletary performance. If you know the song "Old Violin" by Johnny Paycheck, you'll recognize where he got his inspiration from. If you're not familiar with the song, make sure to keep watching.
