Country music star Reba McEntire recently participated in a chili cookoff judged by her partner Rex Linn. Despite being a cute couple, they didn't go easy on each other during the competition.
McEntire took part in a Hillbilly Chili Cookoff, where Linn served as a judge. Despite their personal connection, it did not influence the judging process in her favor.
McEntire ended up in last place. As a result, she received a humorous trophy consisting of a chili pepper going down a toilet.
McEntire, being a gracious individual, posted a video on social media of her cooking competition that didn't go well. The video included a moment of her gracefully acknowledging her last place finish.

In a recent appearance on CBS Mornings, McEntire talked about her unsuccessful experience in a chili cookoff and acknowledged that she has a good understanding of what went awry.
She forgot to add any spices to the dish, but she added chili powder and hatch green chilis thinking it would be enough. She was following a recipe from Texas and was really excited about it.
Even though Linn was in last place, being her girlfriend helped soften the blow when the judges announced the news, according to McEntire.
"Rex, who was one of the judges, approached me and quietly told me the news. He expressed his apologies and when I asked if he would reveal the winner, he confirmed that it was not me."
"Then he gave me the award, which turned out to be a chili pepper inside a toilet. That's when I realized it was my turn to make a joke," McEntire added.
Putting jokes aside, McEntire also discussed her connection with Linn and the reasons behind its success. They have been acquainted for a long time – meeting in 1991 during the filming of The Gambler Returns starring Kenny Rogers – but their romantic relationship didn't begin until they reconnected in 2020. Prior to that, McEntire was married to her husband Narvel Blackstock, with whom she has a son named Shelby.
During a conversation with Rex, McEntire pondered why they hadn't connected sooner. Rex pointed out that McEntire had been married previously, which may have been a factor. McEntire describes Rex as fun and energetic, while noting that she has become more relaxed over time. She believes that they have crossed paths at the perfect moment in their lives.
After that, McEntire will be going to Las Vegas to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Additionally, she is working on a new comedy show that will bring her back together with some of the people who helped create her popular TV series, Reba.
