In the near future, CMA Fest may undergo significant changes due to the upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans. This means that the festival we are familiar with may not be the same in a few years.
The festival's main shows have been held at Nissan Stadium for many years, but they will be relocated to a new venue once construction is finished.
The Country Music Association intends to keep collaborating with the Tennessee Titans annually during CMA Fest and is excited to host country music fans in Nashville for the evening concerts at the new stadium.
A new stadium, appropriately named the New Nissan Stadium, is planned to be constructed on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, just east of the current Nissan Stadium. The construction is expected to start this year, and the stadium is projected to open in 2027.
Fans of country music can still reach the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by crossing the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
The new stadium for the Titans will be enclosed and designed to provide a better experience for fans, offering views of Nashville, a see-through roof, and a large community space that can be used throughout the year.
CMA Fest, formerly known as Fan Fair, is a popular event that started in 1972 with 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium. It has since grown into a major annual event in country music, attracting tens of thousands of guests from around the world to Music City. The festival features over 250 acts performing on nine stages.
