In the coming years, CMA Fest will undergo changes due to the upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans. This will result in a different look and experience for the festival.
The main shows of the festival have been taking place at Nissan Stadium for many years, but they will be relocated to the new venue once it is finished.
The Country Music Association is looking forward to collaborating with the Tennessee Titans annually during CMA Fest and is excited to host country music fans in Nashville for the nightly concerts at the new stadium.
A new stadium, appropriately called the New Nissan Stadium, is planned to be constructed on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, to the east of the current Nissan Stadium. The building process is expected to start this year, and the stadium is projected to open in 2027.
Fans of country music can still get to the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by walking across the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
The Titans' new stadium will be different from their current one in that it will be enclosed and focused on providing fans with an enhanced experience. It will offer stunning views of Nashville, a see-through roof, and a large community space that can be utilized throughout the year.
CMA Fest, formerly known as Fan Fair, has been a popular event since 1972. It began with 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium and has now grown into a massive annual event in the country music world. Each year, Music City attracts tens of thousands of fans from around the world to enjoy over 250 performances on nine stages.
