The upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans signals changes ahead for CMA Fest, leading to a different look and feel in the coming years.
The main performances of the festival have been held at Nissan Stadium for a few years, but they will be moved to the new venue once it is finished.
The Country Music Association plans to collaborate with the Tennessee Titans annually during CMA Fest and is excited to host country music fans in Nashville for the nightly concerts at the new stadium.
A new stadium, appropriately named the New Nissan Stadium, is planned to be constructed east of the current Nissan Stadium on the East Bank of the Cumberland River. Building will start this year, and it is expected to open in 2027.
Fans of country music can still get to the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by using the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
In contrast to where the Titans currently play, the new stadium will be a closed-off space designed to provide fans with a better experience. It will offer sweeping views of Nashville, a see-through roof, and a large community area that can be utilized throughout the year.
CMA Fest, originally known as Fan Fair, is a popular event for country music fans that started in 1972. It began with 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium and has since grown into one of the largest annual events in country music. Every year, tens of thousands of guests from around the world come to Music City to see over 250 performances on nine stages.
