6 Haunting Last Performances: Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Daryle Singletary + More

George Jones was aware that his last concert was approaching. On the other hand, Daryle Singletary was unaware, which added an eerie quality to the song he selected to close the night.

Following the passing of Merle Haggard, there was a widely circulated story claiming that Toby Keith assisted him in exiting the stage gracefully. However, this story turned out to be false as Keith was not present at Haggard's last performance. Additionally, the person who spread the misinformation was also absent at the event.

In reality, actor W. Earl Brown was not present at the event where Keith helped Haggard finish. He only found out about it later.

Taste of Country found a review of what was possibly Haggard's last concert and found a touching moment that deserved as much recognition as the Toby Keith hero story. This moment is one of six final concert memories highlighted in the video and pictures below.

The last performance of John Denver, the final song of Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings' made-for-TV farewell are all featured in this poignant video.

We really enjoy the Singletary performance the most. If you know the song "Old Violin" by Johnny Paycheck, you'll understand the emotion he put into it. If you're not familiar with the song, make sure to continue watching.
