The Future of CMA Fest: What to Expect with the New Nissan Stadium

  • by

The upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans will likely bring changes to the CMA Fest in the future. The current format of the festival may not be the same once the new stadium is built.

The main shows of the festival have been held at Nissan Stadium for a number of years, but they will be moved to a new venue once it is finished.

The Country Music Association is looking forward to collaborating with the Tennessee Titans annually during CMA Fest, and is excited to host country music fans in Nashville for the evening concerts at the new stadium.

A brand new stadium, appropriately called the New Nissan Stadium, is planned to be constructed east of the current Nissan Stadium on the East Bank of the Cumberland River. The building process will start this year and the stadium is expected to open in 2027.

Fans of country music can still reach the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by crossing the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.

The Titans' new stadium will be enclosed and focused on providing fans with an enhanced experience. It will offer panoramic views of Nashville, a see-through roof, and 12,000 square feet of community space that can be utilized throughout the year.

CMA Fest, originally known as Fan Fair, started in 1972 as a way for country music fans to come together. What began with 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium has grown into a major annual event in the country music industry. Every year, people from all over the world come to Music City to enjoy performances by over 250 artists on nine stages.
