Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – What’s Driving Prices and Who’s Buying

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices ever, making it a game for those willing to spend big. If you're looking to attend this year's Super Bowl, be prepared to pay a premium as it is shaping up to be the most costly one yet.

On Thursday, the least expensive single ticket available was priced at $8,000 on the ticket resale website TickPick. This price would secure you a seat in the upper 300 section, although it is important to mention that the website guarantees the availability of the seat.

If the current prices remain steady, this year's Super Bowl ticket could become the most costly in history. The previous record holder was the 2020 Super Bowl, where the average ticket price was $6,370. One of the reasons for the high prices that year was the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playing in the game. However, this year's Super Bowl does not have the same situation.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first to take place in Las Vegas, which has led to an increase in ticket prices as fans are eager to experience a weekend in the city and attend the highly anticipated sporting event.

In case you were curious, the average price of a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

49er fans prioritize location when buying tickets, as shown by StubHub data indicating that 26 percent of ticket sales come from California. This suggests that fans in California are more likely to attend games due to the proximity of the team. In contrast, only 7 percent of ticket sales on StubHub come from Kansas and Missouri combined, indicating that fans from these states are less likely to make the trip to see the 49ers play.

Also, we must remember the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event may attract a larger number of female fans than usual.

Regardless of how you manage to enter, Allegiant Stadium's 65,000 seats will be filled to capacity. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11, at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
