Country music star Reba McEntire participated in a chili cookoff and ended up in last place, with actor Rex Linn as one of the judges. Despite being a cute couple, they don't go easy on each other in cooking competitions.
McEntire took part in a Hillbilly Chili Cookoff where Linn served as a judge. Despite their personal relationship, McEntire did not receive any special treatment during the judging process.
McEntire actually finished in last place. As a result, she received a humorous trophy: a chili pepper being flushed down a toilet.
Always willing to have fun, McEntire posted a video on social media of her unsuccessful cooking competition, where she can be seen graciously accepting her last place finish.

In a recent appearance on CBS Mornings, McEntire talked about her unsuccessful experience at a chili cookoff and acknowledged that she has a good understanding of what went awry.
She realized that she forgot to add the spices to the dish she was making. Despite this, she added chili powder and hatch green chilis thinking it would still turn out well, as it was a Texas recipe. She was very excited about how it would turn out.
Even though Linn was in last place, being McEntire's girlfriend may have helped soften the blow when the judges announced the news.
"Rex, who was a judge, approached me and quietly shared the news. He expressed his apologies and revealed that I did not win the competition when I asked him the outcome."
"Then he gave me the award, which turned out to be a chili pepper in the toilet. It was so unexpected and funny," McEntire explains.
Setting jokes aside, McEntire also discussed her connection with Linn and the reasons behind its success. The two have been acquainted for a long time – they first met in 1991 during the filming of the Kenny Rogers movie The Gambler Returns. However, their romantic relationship did not start until they reconnected in 2020. Prior to this, McEntire was married to her husband Narvel Blackstock, with whom she has a son named Shelby.
During a conversation with Rex, Reba McEntire wondered why they hadn't connected sooner. Rex pointed out that one reason could be that she was previously married. McEntire describes Rex as fun and energetic, while she has become more laid-back. She believes their meeting happened at the perfect moment.
Following that, McEntire will be going to Las Vegas to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Additionally, she is working on a new comedy show that will reunite her with some of the people who were involved in her popular TV show, Reba.
