Reba McEntire was ranked last in a chili cookoff that was judged by Rex Linn. Despite being an adorable couple in country music, they don't go easy on each other when competing in cook-off contests.
McEntire took part in a Hillbilly Chili Cookoff, with Linn serving as one of the judges. Despite their personal connection, it did not influence the judging process in her favor.
McEntire actually finished in last place. As a joke, she was given a trophy shaped like a chili pepper being flushed down a toilet.
McEntire showed her sportsmanship by posting a video on social media of her unsuccessful cookoff experience, which included a moment of her gracefully accepting the last place position.

In a recent interview on CBS Mornings, McEntire talked about her unsuccessful chili cookoff experience and acknowledged that she has a good understanding of what went awry.
"I accidentally forgot to add any spices," she confessed. "But I added a lot of chili powder and hatch green chilis thinking it would be enough. I followed a Texas recipe and was really looking forward to how it would turn out."
Even though Linn's girlfriend status did not improve her ranking, McEntire believes that it may have lessened the impact when the judges announced her last place position.
"Rex, who was one of the judges, approached me and quietly revealed the news. He expressed his apologies and when I asked if he was going to tell me the winner, he replied that unfortunately, it was not me."
"He gave me the award, which turned out to be a chili pepper inside a toilet. So I ended up throwing it away," McEntire explains.
Putting jokes aside, McEntire talked about her connection with Linn and the reasons behind their successful relationship. They have been acquainted for a long time, having first met in 1991 during the filming of The Gambler Returns alongside Kenny Rogers. However, they didn't develop romantic feelings until they reconnected in 2020. Prior to this, McEntire was married to Narvel Blackstock, her husband of many years, with whom she has a son named Shelby.
During a conversation, McEntire mentioned to Rex that she wondered why they didn't get together sooner. Rex pointed out that one reason could be because she was previously married. McEntire describes Rex as fun and full of energy, while she has become more laid back. She feels that they have met at the perfect time in their lives.
Following this, McEntire will be traveling to Las Vegas to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Additionally, she is working on a new comedy series that will involve reuniting with some of the crew from her popular TV show, Reba.
