The upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans means that the CMA Fest will undergo significant changes in the near future.
The main shows of the festival have been held at Nissan Stadium for many years, but they will be moved to the new venue once it is finished.
The Country Music Association has stated that they will collaborate with the Tennessee Titans annually during CMA Fest. They are excited to host country music fans in Nashville for the nightly concerts at the new stadium.
A new stadium, appropriately called the New Nissan Stadium, is planned to be constructed on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, located just east of the current Nissan Stadium. Construction is expected to start this year, with the stadium projected to open in 2027.
Fans of country music can still get to the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by crossing the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
The new stadium for the Titans will be enclosed and focused on providing fans with a better experience. It will offer panoramic views of Nashville, a see-through roof, and 12,000 square feet of community space that can be utilized throughout the year.
CMA Fest, previously known as Fan Fair, is an event that started in 1972 as a way for country music fans to come together. It began with 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium and has grown into one of the largest annual events in country music. Every year, tens of thousands of guests from around the world come to Music City to watch over 250 performances on nine stages.
