6 Haunting Last Performances: Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Daryle Singletary + Many Others
George Jones was aware that his last performance was approaching. On the other hand, Daryle Singletary was unaware, which added an extra eerie feeling to the song he selected to close the night.
Following the passing of Merle Haggard, a story circulated about Toby Keith assisting him in exiting the stage gracefully. However, this story was found to be false as Keith was not present at Haggard's final performance. The individual responsible for spreading this misinformation was also absent from the event.
In reality, actor W. Earl Brown was not present at the performance where Keith actually assisted Haggard. He had only been informed about it after the fact.

Taste of Country found a review of Merle Haggard's last concert, which highlighted a touching moment that deserves recognition alongside Toby Keith's heroic story. This moment is one of six memories from Haggard's final concert, as shown in the video above and in the pictures below.
This video includes John Denver's final performance, Johnny Cash's last song, and Waylon Jennings' made-for-TV farewell.
We really enjoy the Singletary performance the most. If you know the song "Old Violin" by Johnny Paycheck, you'll recognize the emotion he brings to it. If you're not familiar with the song, make sure to stay tuned and watch the performance.
