Reba McEntire Returns to TV: Reuniting with ‘Reba’ Team for New Sitcom

Reba McEntire will be working with the team behind her previous show "Reba" on a new sitcom, marking her return to television.

Following her time as a coach on the TV show The Voice, Reba McEntire is collaborating with NBC once more for a new multi-camera comedy pilot that doesn't have a title yet.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the show follows the story of McEntire's character, who unexpectedly becomes co-owner of her late father's restaurant with her newfound half-sister.

McEntire will be working again with experienced showrunner Kevin Abbott, who has worked on popular shows like Last Man Standing, Roseanne, and The Golden Girls.

Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis, who previously worked on Reba, are said to be joining Reba McEntire on the upcoming NBC comedy series as executive producers.

NBC has issued its first pilot order for 2024 following the conclusion of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

The singer known for the song "Fancy" made her TV debut in the early 2000s with her popular sitcom Reba, which aired for six seasons between 2001 and 2007.

In the show, McEntire plays a mother from Texas who is dealing with the breakdown of her marriage, her husband's infidelity, and her daughter's unexpected pregnancy during her teenage years.

Reba's show continues to be broadcast on the Hallmark Channel through syndication.

During 2012, McEntire had a role in the ABC show Malibu Country which didn't last long. She acted alongside Lily Tomlin and Sara Rue.

She made an appearance on ABC's Big Sky during Season 3 in 2022.
