The Evolution of CMA Fest: How the New Nissan Stadium Will Change the Experience for Country Music Fans

  • by

The upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans means that CMA Fest may undergo significant changes in the near future.

The festival's main shows have been held at Nissan Stadium for many years, but they will be relocated to a new venue once it is finished.

The Country Music Association is planning to collaborate with the Tennessee Titans every year during CMA Fest and is excited to host country music fans in Nashville for the evening concerts at the new stadium.

A new stadium, called the New Nissan Stadium, will be constructed on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, located east of the current Nissan Stadium. The construction is planned to start this year, and the stadium is expected to be opened in 2027.

Fans of country music can still get to the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by using the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.

The new stadium for the Titans will be different from their current one as it will be enclosed and focused on providing fans with a better experience. It will have large windows offering views of Nashville, a see-through roof, and a community space of 12,000 square feet that can be utilized throughout the year.

CMA Fest, previously known as Fan Fair, is a popular event for country music fans that started in 1972 with 5,000 attendees at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium. It has since grown into a large annual event in Music City, drawing tens of thousands of guests from around the world to see over 250 acts performing on nine stages.
