Reba McEntire came in last place in a chili cookoff that was judged by Rex Linn. Despite being a cute couple in country music, they still compete fiercely in cook-off contests.
McEntire took part in a Hillbilly Chili Cookoff where Linn served as one of the judges. Despite their personal connection, it did not influence the judging process in her favor.
McEntire actually finished in last place. As a result, she received a funny trophy as a prize: a chili pepper going down a toilet.
Always one to keep a positive attitude, McEntire posted a video on her social media showing her participation in a cooking competition where she didn't win, and even showed herself graciously accepting the last place position.

In a recent online appearance on CBS Mornings, McEntire talked about her unsuccessful experience at a chili cookoff and acknowledged that she has a good understanding of what went awry.
She realized that she forgot to add the spices to the dish she was making. Despite this, she added chili powder and hatch green chilis thinking it would still turn out well, as it was a recipe from Texas that she was following. She felt really enthusiastic about it.
Even though Linn's girlfriend status did not change her last place position, McEntire believes that it may have helped soften the disappointment when the judges announced the results.
I was informed by Rex, one of the judges, that I did not win. He whispered it to me and offered his apologies. When I asked if he would tell me who did win, he simply said it was not me.
"Then he gave me the award, which turned out to be a chili pepper in the toilet. So I ended up throwing it away," McEntire added.
Putting jokes aside, McEntire discussed her connection with Linn and the reasons why their relationship is strong. They have been acquainted for a long time, meeting in 1991 during the filming of The Gambler Returns. However, their romantic feelings didn't develop until they reconnected in 2020. Prior to this, McEntire was married to her husband Narvel Blackstock, and they have a son named Shelby together.
During a conversation, Reba McEntire mentioned that she once asked Rex why they didn't get together sooner, to which he responded that she had been married before. She described Rex as fun and high-energy, while she has mellowed out over time. She believes they have met at the perfect time in their lives.
Following that, McEntire will be travelling to Las Vegas to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Additionally, she is working on a new comedy series that will reunite her with some of the crew from her popular show, Reba.
