The future of CMA Fest is uncertain due to the upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans. This means that CMA Fest may undergo significant changes in the coming years.
The festival's main shows have been held at Nissan Stadium for a few years now, but they will be moving to a new venue once it is finished.
The Country Music Association intends to keep collaborating with the Tennessee Titans annually during CMA Fest. They are excited to host country music fans in Nashville for the nightly concerts at the new stadium.
A new stadium called the New Nissan Stadium will be constructed on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, located east of the current Nissan Stadium. Construction is expected to start this year, and the stadium is projected to open in 2027.
Fans of country music can still reach the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by using the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
The new stadium for the Titans will differ from their current one by being an enclosed facility focused on providing fans with a top-notch experience. It will have large windows offering breathtaking views of Nashville, a see-through roof, and a community space spanning 12,000 square feet that can be utilized throughout the year.
CMA Fest, previously known as Fan Fair, has been taking place since 1972 and is considered a must-attend event for country music fans. Starting with just 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium, the festival has grown into one of the largest country music events of the year. Every year, Music City welcomes tens of thousands of guests from around the world to enjoy over 250 performances on nine stages.
