Chris Young Reflects on Arrest and Dropped Charges, Thanks Fans for Support

  • by

After being arrested on assault charges, Chris Young has spoken to his fans for the first time and is still trying to make sense of the controversial week.

The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Nights" expressed gratitude on social media to friends and fans who supported him after he was arrested on the night of Jan. 22.

Update: Chris Young has been acquitted of all charges following an incident at a bar in Nashville.

Young expressed how much it meant to him to have friends and fans show their support and belief in him by saying "we got you, we don’t believe you did any of this," in the video.

"It is a relief to see the charges dropped. I don't want anyone to have to experience what I went through. The positive aspect was the overwhelming love and support that was shown."

The event occurred at the Dawg House located in the downtown area of Nashville.

Footage from a security camera captures Young appearing composed as he tries to grab the attention of a Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commission agent by reaching out his arm. In response, the agent pushes Young, causing him to lose his balance and fall backwards into the bar.

In a video, Young mentions he is still trying to understand the false accusations and events of the past week. He shares that the support from his fans motivated him to release a new song from his upcoming album ahead of schedule.

The new album "Double Down" will be released this Friday at midnight.

"Turn up the volume and savor the music. I am grateful for you, I care for you, and I appreciate you," Young expresses.
