Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – What’s Driving the High Prices?

  • by

The upcoming Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices ever. If you plan on attending, be prepared to pay a premium as it is set to break records for the most expensive Super Bowl to date.

Currently, the lowest priced single ticket available on the ticket resale platform TickPick is $8,000. This ticket would provide you with a seat in the upper 300 section, although it is important to mention that the site guarantees that a seat will be provided.

If the current prices remain the same, this year's Super Bowl ticket will be the most expensive one ever sold. The previous record holder for high ticket prices was the 2020 Super Bowl, with an average ticket cost of $6,370. The main reason for the high prices that year was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the home team, playing in the game. This year, however, the home team is not playing.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the inaugural one to take place in Las Vegas, which has caused ticket prices to increase as fans are eager to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and top it off with the highly anticipated sporting event.

Just in case you were curious, the average price of a ticket to the original Super Bowl was $12.

The location plays a significant role in attracting 49er fans, as shown by StubHub's data that 26 percent of ticket sales come from California. This is because fans from California have a shorter distance to travel to watch their favorite team. In comparison, Kansas and Missouri only account for a total of 7 percent of ticket sales on the website.

Also, we should consider the influence of Taylor Swift! It is possible that her presence will attract a larger number of female fans to the event.

Regardless of how you enter, Allegiant Stadium, with a seating capacity of 65,000, will be completely full. The start of Super Bowl 58 is scheduled for Sunday, February 11, at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
