Country music star Reba McEntire ended up in last place in a chili cookoff that was judged by her partner, Rex Linn. Despite being a cute couple, they didn't show any mercy to each other during the contest.
McEntire recently took part in a competition called the Hillbilly Chili Cookoff, where Linn was serving as one of the judges. Despite their personal connection, McEntire did not receive any special treatment during the judging.
McEntire actually finished in last place. As a result, she received a humorous trophy: a chili pepper being flushed down a toilet.
As always being a good sport, McEntire posted a video on her social media showing her unsuccessful attempt at a cookoff competition, showcasing her gracefully accepting the last place position.

On a recent appearance on CBS Mornings, McEntire discussed her unsuccessful attempt at a chili cookoff and shared that she has a good understanding of what went awry.
She realized that she forgot to add the spices when making the dish. Despite this, she added chili powder and hatch green chilis to the recipe from Texas, thinking it would turn out great.
Despite being Linn's girlfriend, she still ended up in last place. McEntire believes that her relationship with Linn may have softened the blow when the judges announced the results.
During the competition, Rex, one of the judges, approached me and quietly informed me of the outcome. He expressed his apologies and when I asked if he would reveal the winner, he disclosed that it was not me.
"He gave me the trophy, which was a chili pepper inside a toilet. And then I did the same thing," McEntire added.
Putting humor aside, McEntire discussed her connection with Linn and the reasons behind its success. The two have been acquainted for a long time, meeting in 1991 during the filming of The Gambler Returns. However, they did not develop romantic feelings until they reconnected in 2020. During this time, McEntire was married to her husband Narvel Blackstock, with whom she has a son named Shelby.
During a conversation with Rex, McEntire wondered why they hadn't connected sooner. Rex mentioned that one reason could be because she was previously married. McEntire describes Rex as fun and energetic, while she has become more relaxed. She believes they have crossed paths at the perfect moment in their lives.
Following that, McEntire will be traveling to Las Vegas to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Additionally, she is working on a new television show that will reunite her with some of the crew from her popular series, Reba.
