Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – What’s Driving the High Prices?

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices ever, so only those with a lot of money to spend will be able to attend. If you want to go to this year's Super Bowl, be prepared to pay a premium.

As of Thursday, the most affordable single ticket available was priced at $8,000 on the ticket resale website TickPick. This ticket would give you a seat in the upper 300 section, although the website does mention that the purchase comes with a guaranteed seat.

If the current prices remain stable, this year's Super Bowl ticket could become the most pricey one ever. The previous record holder was the 2020 Super Bowl, with an average ticket cost of $6,370. The main reason for the high price that year was due to the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, being in the game. However, that is not the situation this year.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first one held in Las Vegas, and experts believe this is causing ticket prices to rise. Fans are eager to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and top it off with the highly anticipated sports event.

In case you were curious, the average price for a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The location of the game is a significant factor for 49ers fans when buying tickets. According to StubHub, 26 percent of ticket sales come from California, as fans prefer to make the shorter trip to support their favorite team. On the other hand, only 7 percent of ticket sales on StubHub come from Kansas and Missouri combined.

Let's also consider the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event could attract a larger female audience than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, Allegiant Stadium, with a capacity of 65,000 seats, will be completely full. The kickoff for Super Bowl 58 is scheduled for Sunday, February 11th at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
