Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – What’s Driving the High Prices?

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is on track to have the highest ticket prices ever seen for the game. Anyone looking to attend this year's Super Bowl should be prepared to pay a premium.

As of Thursday, the lowest-priced single ticket available on the ticket resale website TickPick was $8,000. This ticket would provide seating in the upper 300 section, although the site does mention that the purchase includes a guaranteed seat.

If the prices remain steady, this Super Bowl ticket could become the priciest one ever. The previous record holder for the highest ticket prices was the 2020 Super Bowl, where the average price was $6,370. One of the main reasons for the high prices that year was because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the home team, were competing in the game. However, that is not the case this year.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first one ever held in Las Vegas. Ticket experts believe this is causing prices to increase as fans are eager to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and attend the biggest sporting event globally.

In case you were curious, the average price of a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The location plays a significant role in attracting 49er fans, as StubHub data reveals that 26 percent of ticket sales come from California. This is because fans find it easier to make the shorter trip to support their favorite team. In comparison, Kansas and Missouri together account for only 7 percent of ticket sales on StubHub.

Let's also consider the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event could attract more female fans than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, the Allegiant Stadium with 65,000 seats will be filled to capacity. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11, at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
