Reba McEntire came in last place in a chili cookoff that was judged by Rex Linn. Despite being a cute couple in country music, Reba and Rex do not show each other any mercy when it comes to competing in cook-off contests.
McEntire recently took part in a Hillbilly Chili Cookoff, where Linn served as a judge. Despite their personal connection, it did not influence the judging process in any way.
McEntire actually finished in last place. As a consolation prize, she received a trophy shaped like a chili pepper being flushed down a toilet.
Being a good sport, McEntire posted a video on social media of her unsuccessful cooking competition experience, showing herself gracefully accepting the last place position.

In a recent appearance on CBS Mornings through a virtual visit, McEntire discussed her experience of failing at a chili cookoff and acknowledged that she has a good understanding of what caused the failure.
She realized that she forgot to add any spices to her dish, but she tried to make up for it by adding chili powder and hatch green chilis to give it a Texas-inspired flavor. She was hopeful that this addition would be enough to make the dish taste delicious.
Even though Linn's girlfriend didn't help her avoid ending up in last place, McEntire believes that being in a relationship likely softened the disappointment when the judges announced the results.
During the competition, Rex, one of the judges, approached me and quietly revealed the news. He expressed his regret and informed me that I did not win.
McEntire received a trophy shaped like a chili pepper and when it was passed to her, she found out it was actually placed in a toilet. She then jokingly mentioned that her trophy also "took a dump."
In addition to joking around, McEntire talked about her connection with Linn and the reasons behind its success. They have been acquainted for a long time, meeting in 1991 during the filming of The Gambler Returns starring Kenny Rogers, but their romantic relationship didn't develop until they reconnected in 2020. Prior to that, McEntire was married to her husband Narvel Blackstock for a long time and they have a son named Shelby together.
During a conversation with Rex, Reba McEntire pondered why they hadn't connected sooner. Rex pointed out that she had been married previously, which may have been a factor. McEntire describes Rex as lively and full of energy, while noting that she has become more relaxed over time. They both feel that they have crossed paths at the perfect moment.
