Country music star Reba McEntire participated in a chili cookoff and ended up in last place, with actor Rex Linn as one of the judges. Despite being a cute couple, they did not go easy on each other during the competition.
McEntire recently took part in a Hillbilly Chili Cookoff, where Linn was a judge. Despite their personal relationship, McEntire did not receive any special treatment during the judging.
McEntire actually finished in last place. As a consolation prize, she received a trophy of a chili pepper being flushed down a toilet.
Despite not winning, McEntire showed good sportsmanship by posting a video on social media of her cooking competition attempt, which included a moment of her graciously accepting coming in last place.

In a recent appearance on CBS Mornings, Reba McEntire talked about her unsuccessful attempt at a chili cookoff and shared that she has a good understanding of what caused it to go wrong.
"I accidentally forgot to add any spices," she confesses. "But I added chili powder and hatch green chilis, thinking it would be enough. I was following a recipe from Texas and was really looking forward to it."
Even though Linn's girlfriend status did not change her last place position, McEntire believes that being in a relationship may have helped soften the disappointment when the judges announced the results.
Rex, who was a judge, approached me and quietly informed me that I did not win. He expressed his regret and I asked him who the winner was. He replied that it was not me.
"Then he gave me the award, which turned out to be a chili pepper placed in a toilet. So I made a joke about it," McEntire added.
Putting jokes aside, McEntire discussed her connection with Linn and the reasons behind its success. Despite knowing each other for many years since meeting during the filming of The Gambler Returns in 1991, they didn't develop romantic feelings until they reconnected in 2020. Prior to this, McEntire was married to her husband Narvel Blackstock, with whom she has a son named Shelby.
During a conversation with Rex, Reba McEntire wondered why they hadn't gotten together sooner. Rex mentioned that one reason might have been because she was previously married. McEntire describes Rex as fun and energetic, while she has become more mellow. She feels that they have met each other at the perfect time in their lives.
Following that, McEntire will be going to Las Vegas to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Additionally, she is working on a new sitcom that will involve reuniting with some of the crew from her popular television show, Reba.
