Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History and Why Fans Are Willing to Pay

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices ever seen in the game's history. If you're hoping to attend, be prepared to pay a premium as it is shaping up to be the most expensive Super Bowl yet.

As of Thursday, the lowest priced single ticket available on the ticket resale website TickPick was $8,000. This ticket would provide a seat in the upper 300 section, although the website does specify that the purchase includes a guaranteed seat.

Should the prices remain stable, this year's Super Bowl ticket could become the most expensive one ever sold. The previous record holder for the highest ticket price was the 2020 Super Bowl, where the average ticket was sold for $6,370. One of the main reasons for the high price that year was that the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was playing in the game. However, this year, the home team is not playing in the Super Bowl.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be taking place in Las Vegas for the first time, and experts believe that this unique location is causing ticket prices to rise. Fans are eager to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and top it off with the highly anticipated sporting event.

In case you were curious, the average price for a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The location of the game plays a significant role in attracting 49er fans. According to StubHub, 26 percent of ticket sales come from California, as fans from the state have a shorter distance to travel to watch their team. In comparison, only 7 percent of ticket sales on the site come from Kansas and Missouri combined.

Let's also consider the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event may attract more female fans than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, Allegiant Stadium, with a seating capacity of 65,000, will be completely full. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11, at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
