Chris Young recently addressed his fans for the first time since his arrest and the subsequent dropping of charges. He mentioned that he is still trying to come to terms with the events of the past week, which involved him being arrested on assault charges.
The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Nights" went on social media to express gratitude to friends and fans who supported him after he was in jail on the night of Jan. 22.
Update: Chris Young has been acquitted of all accusations following his arrest at a bar in Nashville.
In the video, Young expressed how much it meant to him to have the support of friends and fans who reached out to reassure him that they believed in his innocence.
"It's a relief to see the charges being dropped. I wouldn't want anyone to have to experience this. However, the positive aspect was the overwhelming love and support that was shown."
The event occurred at a bar called the Dawg House located in the downtown area of Nashville.
Footage from a security camera captures Young appearing calm before he tries to grab the attention of a Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commission agent by reaching out his arm. The agent responds by pushing Young, causing him to fall backwards into the bar and lose his balance.
Young explains that he is still trying to make sense of the false accusations and events that occurred over the past week. He goes on to share that the encouragement and support from his fans motivated him to release a new song from his upcoming album earlier than planned.
The new album "Double Down" will be released on Friday at midnight.
"Turn up the volume and savor the moment. I am grateful for you, I care about you, and I want to say thank you," Young expresses.
