Chris Young recently addressed his fans for the first time since his arrest and subsequent dropped charges. He mentioned that he is still trying to make sense of a tumultuous week that involved being taken into custody for assault allegations.
The singer behind "Young Love & Saturday Nights" went on social media to express gratitude to friends and fans who supported him after he was in jail on the night of January 22nd.
Chris Young has been acquitted of all charges following his arrest at a bar in Nashville.
In the video, Young expresses how much it meant to him to have friends and fans support him and believe in his innocence.
"It's a relief to see the charges being dropped. Going through something like this is not something I would want anyone to experience. However, the positive aspect was the overwhelming love and support that was shown."
The event occurred at a restaurant called the Dawg House located in the city center of Nashville.
Footage from a security camera captures Young appearing composed as he tries to grab the attention of a Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commission agent by reaching out his arm. The agent responds by pushing Young, causing him to lose his balance and fall backward into the bar.
"I am still trying to understand and come to terms with the false accusations and events that took place last week," Young shares at the beginning of the video. Towards the end, he mentions that the encouragement and support from his fans motivated him to release a new song from his upcoming album earlier than planned.
The new album "Double Down" will be released this Friday, February 2nd, at midnight.
"Turn up the volume, savor the moment. I am grateful for you, I care for you, and I want to express my gratitude," Young expresses.
