If the current prices remain, this Super Bowl ticket could become the priciest one ever. The most expensive Super Bowl ticket so far was for the 2020 game, with an average price of $6,370. One reason for the high price that year was that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the home team, were playing. However, this year, the home team is not playing.
The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first to take place in Las Vegas, and ticket experts believe this is causing prices to rise. Fans are eager to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and top it off with the world's largest sporting event.
For those curious, the average price of a ticket to the very first Super Bowl was $12.
The proximity to the game is a major influence for 49er fans when buying tickets. According to StubHub, 26 percent of ticket sales come from California, where fans have a shorter distance to travel to see their team play. In contrast, Kansas and Missouri only account for a combined 7 percent of ticket sales on the website.
