Jennifer Nettles, the host of the Fox show, acknowledges that this season the female contestants are displaying more emotion, energy, and reactivity, which may result in some tense moments on the farm.
The second season of Farmer Wants a Wife will showcase four farmers from different parts of the United States who are searching for their soulmates.
The unique aspect of this situation is that each farmer will choose five women from a group of 29 to live with them on their farm. This experience will allow the women to fully understand the responsibilities of being a farmer's wife.
Introducing the farmers featured on Season 2 of Farmer Wants a Wife:
Ty Ferrell, aged 42, refers to himself as a cowboy rather than a farmer because he specializes in team roping. He manages a 50-acre farm in Sikeston, Missouri, where he raises horses and cattle. Ty has a passion for roping and riding that has been a part of his life since childhood. As one of the older farmers on the show, he is a divorced father to a 12-year-old daughter. Ty is seeking a partner who can not only be his companion but also a nurturing figure for his child.
Mitchell Kolinsky, aged 27, is a farmer in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. He is the first in his family to work in farming. His large property has many animals and an old cabin from the 1800s, where he resides with his three dogs. Kolinsky's childhood included being around horses and spending time outside, which led him to pursue a farming career. He currently owns a farm with horses and cows.
At the age of 29, Brandon Rogers manages a large farm in Center, Colorado that grows potatoes and barley on 1,000 acres of land. The town he resides in is very small, with only one traffic light, and is surrounded by farmland. Coming from a family of farmers, Rogers grew up helping his father on the farm and is now carrying on the family tradition by running the business himself. He plans to uphold the legacy that his father began and continue the success of the farm for future generations.
Nathan Smothers, aged 23, comes from a long line of farmers and is currently a fourth-generation citrus and cattle farmer in Bartow, Florida. His property is extensive, with 300 acres of farmland and over 500 acres designated for cattle. Despite his young age, Smothers displays maturity beyond his years, especially after the loss of his father when he was just 12. Since then, he has taken on the responsibility of looking after his mother and three sisters.
The second season of Farmer Wants a Wife will debut on Fox on Thursday, February 1st at 9PM ET.
