Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History and What’s Driving the Prices Up

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices ever seen in the history of the game. Those looking to attend this year's Super Bowl will need to be willing to spend a significant amount of money.

As of Thursday, the lowest-priced single ticket available on the ticket resale website TickPick was $8,000. This ticket would grant you a seat in the upper 300 section, but it is important to note that the website guarantees you will have a seat.

If the prices remain stable, this Super Bowl ticket could become the most expensive one ever. The 2020 Super Bowl holds the title for the highest average ticket purchase price at $6,370. The main reason for the high price that year was that the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was playing in the game. However, this year, that is not the case.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the inaugural one to take place in Las Vegas. Ticket experts believe that this unique location is causing prices to increase, as fans are eager to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and culminate it with the renowned sporting event.

In case you were curious, the average price of a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The proximity of the stadium is a major influence for fans of the 49ers, as shown by StubHub data indicating that 26 percent of ticket purchases come from California. Fans are more likely to attend games when they have a shorter distance to travel. In contrast, only 7 percent of ticket sales on StubHub come from Kansas and Missouri combined.

Let's also consider the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event could attract a larger number of female fans than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, Allegiant Stadium's 65,000 seats will be filled to capacity. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11th at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
