Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – Why Fans Are Paying Top Dollar to Attend

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices ever seen in the game's history. If you're hoping to attend this year's Super Bowl, be prepared to spend a significant amount of money as it is shaping up to be the most expensive one yet.

As of Thursday, the lowest-priced single ticket available on the ticket resale website TickPick was $8,000. This ticket would provide you with a seat in the upper 300 section, although the website does mention that the purchase guarantees you a seat.

If the prices remain the same, this Super Bowl ticket will be recorded as the most costly one ever. The previous record holder is the 2020 Super Bowl, where the average ticket price was $6,370. One of the key reasons for the high prices that year was the presence of the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in the game. However, this year, that is not the case.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first one to take place in Las Vegas, and experts believe this is causing ticket prices to increase. Fans are eager to experience a weekend in Sin City and top it off with the world's largest sporting event.

In case you were curious, the average price of a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

For 49er fans, the location plays a significant role in their decision to purchase tickets. According to StubHub, 26 percent of ticket sales come from California, as fans prefer to make the shorter journey to support their team. In comparison, only 7 percent of ticket sales on StubHub come from Kansas and Missouri combined.

And we must also consider the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event may attract a larger number of female fans than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, the 65,000 capacity Allegiant Stadium will be completely full. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11, at 6:30PM ET.
