Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – What’s Driving the High Prices?

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices in the history of the game. Those interested in attending the event will need to be willing to pay a premium.

As of Thursday, the lowest priced single ticket available was $8,000 on the ticket resale website TickPick. This ticket would provide you with a seat in the upper 300 section, but it is important to note that the website guarantees you will have a seat.

If the prices remain the same, this Super Bowl will be known for having the highest-priced tickets ever. The previous record was set in 2020 with an average ticket price of $6,370. The high price that year was largely due to the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playing in the game. However, this year the home team is not playing in the Super Bowl, which may be a factor in the high ticket prices.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first one to take place in Las Vegas, a factor that ticket experts believe is causing prices to increase. Fans are excited about the opportunity to spend a weekend in Sin City and attend the highly anticipated sporting event.

Just in case you were curious, the average price for a ticket to the first Super Bowl was $12.

Many 49er fans prioritize location when buying tickets, as shown by StubHub data indicating that 26 percent of ticket sales come from California. Fans from California have a shorter distance to travel to see their team play. In contrast, fans from Kansas and Missouri account for only 7 percent of ticket sales on the website.

Additionally, it is important to consider the influence of Taylor Swift. Her presence at the event is expected to attract a larger number of female fans compared to previous events.

Regardless of how you enter, Allegiant Stadium with 65,000 seats will be completely full. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11 at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
