Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History and What’s Driving the Price Up

  • by

The upcoming Super Bowl 58 is on track to have the highest-priced tickets ever for the game. Anyone looking to attend will need to have a lot of money to spend, as it is expected to be the most costly Super Bowl yet.

As of Thursday, the lowest priced single ticket available was $8,000 on the ticket resale website TickPick. This ticket would give you a seat in the upper 300 section, but it is important to note that the site guarantees a seat with this purchase.

If the current prices remain stable, this Super Bowl ticket could become the most costly one ever sold. The most expensive ticket so far was for the 2020 Super Bowl, with an average price of $6,370. The high price that year was influenced by the fact that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the home team, were competing in the game. This year, however, the home team is not playing in the Super Bowl.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first to take place in Las Vegas, and experts believe this unique location is causing ticket prices to increase. Fans are eager to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and attend the highly anticipated sporting event.

In case you were curious, the average price of a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The proximity to the stadium is a significant influence for 49er fans when purchasing tickets, as shown by StubHub data. California accounts for 26 percent of ticket sales, with fans from the state making the convenient journey to support their team. In contrast, Kansas and Missouri together only represent 7 percent of ticket sales on the website.

Let's also consider the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event could attract a larger female audience than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, the Allegiant Stadium, with a capacity of 65,000 seats, will be full. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11th at 6:30PM ET.
