Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – What’s Driving the High Prices and Who’s Buying

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is anticipated to have the highest priced tickets ever, making it a game that only high rollers can afford to attend. If you're looking to attend this year's Super Bowl, be prepared to pay a premium price for entry.

As of Thursday, the lowest priced single ticket available on the ticket resale site TickPick was $8,000. This ticket would provide a seat in the upper 300 section, with the site ensuring that a seat is reserved for the buyer at that price.

If the prices remain the same, this Super Bowl ticket will be remembered as the most costly one ever. The previous record holder was the 2020 Super Bowl, where the average ticket price was $6,370. The high prices that year were largely due to the fact that the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, were competing. This year, however, the home team is not playing in the Super Bowl.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first one ever hosted in Las Vegas, and experts believe this is causing ticket prices to rise. Fans are eager to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and top it off with the highly anticipated sporting event.

In case you were curious, the average ticket price for the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

Many 49er fans prioritize location when buying tickets, with data from StubHub indicating that 26 percent of ticket sales come from California. Fans from California are more likely to attend games because of the shorter distance. In contrast, only 7 percent of ticket sales on StubHub come from Kansas and Missouri combined.

Let's also consider the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event may attract a larger female audience than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, Allegiant Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 65,000, will be completely full. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start at 6:30PM ET on Sunday, February 11th.
