Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – What’s Driving the High Prices?

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is anticipated to have the highest ticket prices ever seen in the game's history. Only those with a lot of money to spend will be able to attend this year's Super Bowl.

As of Thursday, the lowest priced single ticket available on the ticket resale website TickPick was $8,000. This ticket would provide a seat in the upper 300 section, with the website confirming that the seat is guaranteed at that price.

If the current prices remain steady, this Super Bowl ticket could become the most costly one ever. The 2020 Super Bowl holds the record for the highest average ticket price at $6,370, largely due to the fact that the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was playing in the game. However, that is not the case for this year's Super Bowl.

The upcoming Super Bowl will take place in Las Vegas for the first time ever, which has caused ticket prices to increase. Experts believe that the appeal of spending a weekend in Sin City and attending the biggest sporting event in the world is driving this price hike.

In case you were curious, the average price of a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The location plays a significant role in attracting 49er fans, as StubHub data reveals that 26 percent of ticket sales come from California. This indicates that fans from California have easier access to games compared to fans from Kansas and Missouri, who only account for a total of 7 percent of ticket sales on the website.

Also, it's worth mentioning the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event could attract a larger number of female fans than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, the Allegiant Stadium with 65,000 seats will be completely full. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11th at 6:30 PM Eastern Time.
