Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – What’s Driving Prices and Who’s Buying

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is on track to have the highest ticket prices ever. If you want to attend this year's Super Bowl, you'll need to have a lot of money to spend.

As of Thursday, the lowest-priced single ticket available was $8,000 on the ticket resale platform TickPick. This ticket would provide seating in the upper 300 section, but it is important to note that a seat is guaranteed at this price.

If the prices remain unchanged, this Super Bowl ticket could become the most costly one ever. The previous record holder for the highest priced ticket was the 2020 Super Bowl, where the average ticket was sold for $6,370. One of the reasons for the high cost that year was that the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was playing. However, this year, the home team is not playing in the Super Bowl.

The upcoming Super Bowl in Las Vegas is the first of its kind, and experts believe that this unique location is causing ticket prices to rise. Fans are eager to experience a weekend in Sin City followed by the world's biggest sporting event.

In case you were curious, the average price of a ticket to the very first Super Bowl was $12.

The location of the game plays a significant role in attracting 49er fans, as shown by StubHub data. Approximately 26 percent of ticket sales on the site come from California, where fans can easily travel to see their team play. In contrast, sales from Kansas and Missouri make up only 7 percent of the total tickets sold on the site.

Also, we shouldn't overlook the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event is expected to attract a larger number of female fans than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, the Allegiant Stadium with 65,000 seats will be completely full. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11th at 6:30 PM ET.
