Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – What’s Driving the High Prices and Who’s Buying Them?

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is on track to have the priciest tickets ever, meaning only those willing to spend a lot of money will be able to attend. If you're hoping to go to this year's Super Bowl, be prepared to pay a hefty price as it is expected to be the most costly one yet.

As of Thursday, the lowest-priced single ticket available was $8,000 on the ticket resale website TickPick. This ticket would provide a seat in the upper 300 section, but it is important to note that the site guarantees you will have a seat.

If the current prices remain steady, this year's Super Bowl ticket could become the most expensive in history. The 2020 Super Bowl holds the record for the highest average ticket purchase price at $6,370, largely due to the fact that the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, were competing. However, this year, the home team is not playing in the Super Bowl, which may be a factor in the high prices.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the inaugural one to take place in Las Vegas. According to ticket experts, this unique location is causing ticket prices to rise as fans are eager to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and culminate it with the highly anticipated sporting event.

In case you were curious, the average price of a ticket to the original Super Bowl was $12.

The proximity to the stadium is a significant factor in attracting 49er fans, as shown by StubHub's data indicating that 26% of ticket sales come from California. Fans from Kansas and Missouri only account for a combined 7% of ticket sales on the site.

And we shouldn't overlook the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event might attract a larger number of female fans than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, Allegiant Stadium, which has 65,000 seats, will be completely full. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11th at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
