Chris Young recently addressed his fans for the first time since his arrest and subsequent charges being dropped. He mentioned that he is still trying to come to terms with the events of the past week, which included being arrested on assault charges.
The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Nights" went on social media to express gratitude to friends and fans who supported him after he was in jail on the night of Jan. 22.
Update: Chris Young has been acquitted of all charges following his arrest at a bar in Nashville.
"It was incredibly meaningful to me, as many friends and fans showed their support by reassuring me that they believe in my innocence," stated Young in the video.
"It was a relief to see the charges being dropped. No one should have to experience something like that. The positive aspect was the overwhelming love and support that was shown."
The event occurred at a bar called the Dawg House in the central area of Nashville.
The security camera footage captures Young behaving calmly before trying to get the attention of a Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commission agent by reaching out his arm towards him. The agent responds by pushing Young, causing him to stumble backwards into the bar and fall down.
In the video, Young mentions that he is still trying to come to terms with the false accusations and events that occurred in the previous week. He also shares that the support from his fans encouraged him to release a new song from his upcoming album earlier than planned.
The new album "Double Down" will be released this Friday at midnight.
"Turn up the volume and savor the music. I am grateful for you, I care about you, and I want to express my thanks," Young expresses.
