Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – What’s Driving Prices Up and Who’s Buying

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices ever seen in the game's history. If you're looking to attend this year's Super Bowl, be prepared to pay a premium as it is gearing up to be the most expensive one yet.

By Thursday, the lowest priced single ticket available was $8,000 on the ticket resale website TickPick. This ticket would secure you a seat in the upper 300 section, with the assurance that a seat is guaranteed.

If the prices remain steady, this year's Super Bowl ticket may become the most costly in history. The 2020 Super Bowl holds the current record for the highest ticket prices, with an average purchase price of $6,370. One of the main reasons for the high prices that year was the inclusion of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the home team, in the game. However, this year does not have the same situation.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first one ever held in Las Vegas, according to ticket experts. They believe this is causing ticket prices to increase as fans are excited to spend a weekend in Las Vegas and attend the biggest sporting event in the world.

In case you were curious, the average price of a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The proximity to the stadium is a significant factor for fans of the 49ers when purchasing tickets. According to StubHub, 26% of ticket sales come from California, as local fans have the advantage of a shorter journey to watch their team play. In comparison, only 7% of ticket sales on the site come from Kansas and Missouri combined.

Let's also consider the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event may attract a larger female audience than usual.

Regardless of how you gain entry, Allegiant Stadium, which can hold 65,000 people, will be completely full for Super Bowl 58. The game is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11, at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
