American Blonde Inspires Self-Worth with Empowering New Song, ‘Why Girl’

  • by

The band American Blonde is promoting self-worth through their latest song, "Why Girl," and they have chosen Taste of Country readers to have an exclusive first listen to it.

"‘Why Girl’ was created with the intention of reaching out to girls who tend to look for love in the wrong places," they explained to ToC. "Our goal with this song is to encourage them to understand their own value and to stop accepting less than they deserve."

The lyrics in the chorus ask why you're letting someone make you cry and live a lie, expressing concern that you're not fine and always looking sad. They question why you're wasting your time on someone who is like a devil in disguise.

After their previous group, Southern Halo, disbanded, sisters Natalia (Nata) and Christina (Tinka) Morris formed a new country duo. The trio, which also included their younger sister Hannah, had success with songs like "Little White Dress," "Anything Is Possible," "I Think Too Much," and "Don't Let Another Day Go By." When Hannah left in 2020 to focus on her education, Natalia and Christina saw it as an opportunity to rebrand and showcase their current musical identity to fans.
