The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock was telling the truth in his lyrics about getting more attention than Mark McGrath.
The lyrics were taken from Rock's song "Cocky" released in 2001 on his album with the same title. In this part of the song, Rock declares his identity as Kid Rock from the old school, boasting about having more money than Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.
The question about whether Kid Rock "got more ass" than Mark McGrath, which had been unanswered for over twenty years, was recently brought up by Rock Feed on social media.
Shortly after, Finn McKenty, a well-known YouTuber, proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument. McKenty also mentioned McGrath by tagging him in the post.
McGrath responded to the question humorously, confirming that the person mentioned did indeed rhyme "ass" with McGrath. This response was shared by the singer through X (formerly Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's claim. It would be interesting to see how their financials compare, considering both bands have been successful for four decades.
