During a recent episode of her talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson shared that she was told she was at risk for developing diabetes before she decided to lose weight. However, she didn't start her weight loss journey right away.
Clarkson mentioned that she was informed that she was pre-diabetic during a conversation with Kevin James on her show. She admitted that she wasn't surprised by the news, as she acknowledged being slightly overweight.
"They told me that I was at risk of developing diabetes, just on the edge of it. At first, I didn't take it seriously and thought I wasn't there yet," she jokes. "But after two years, I finally decided to take action."
Recently, Clarkson discussed how she lost weight by following her doctor's advice and making healthier choices after moving to New York City.
She expressed her discontent with living in Los Angeles for a long period of time and felt the need to make a new beginning.
Clarkson moved her two children to the West Coast because they were also not doing well there. The family likes to stay active by taking advantage of the city's walkability and bringing their dogs to the park.
She credits her weight loss to her diet, stating that she consumes a balanced mix of foods and follows a protein-rich diet most of the time because it benefits her health.
Clarkson humorously mentioned that as a Texas native, she enjoys eating meat, jokingly apologizing to vegetarians everywhere.
The singer made a decision to move, including moving her TV show to New York, after her divorce from Brandon Blackstock was finalized in early 2022.
