The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock's lyrics about "getting more ass" than Mark McGrath were true.
The lyrics were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock in 2001, which was part of his album with the same title. In this particular part of the song, the lyrics mention Rock identifying himself as Kid Rock from the old school and boasting about having more money than Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.
How was the question that has been around for over twenty years finally answered? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media, "Did Kid Rock really have more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath?"
Shortly after, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that the debate should be settled by Mark McGrath, a popular singer from the band Sugar Ray. Finn McKenty also made sure to tag Mark McGrath in his suggestion.
McGrath responded to the question with good humor, confirming that the person did indeed rhyme "ass" with McGrath. The singer clarified this through X (previously known as Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's claim. It would be interesting to compare the financial success of both bands, considering they have been successful in four different decades.
