Kelly Clarkson Opens Up About Being Pre-Diabetic Before Weight Loss Journey

  • by

During an episode of her talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson shared that being told she was pre-diabetic motivated her to lose weight. However, she didn't start her weight loss journey right away.

Clarkson discusses with guest Kevin James on her show about being informed that she was at risk for developing diabetes due to being slightly overweight. She wasn't surprised by the news.

"They told me that I was at risk for developing diabetes, but I didn't take it seriously at first. It took me two years before I finally decided to take action and address the issue."

Recently, Clarkson discussed her weight loss, mentioning that she lost weight by following her doctor's advice. She also mentioned that moving to New York City helped her develop healthier habits for both her mind and body.

At that moment, she expressed that she had been feeling very unhappy in Los Angeles for a few years and was in need of a new beginning.

Clarkson moved her two children to the West Coast because they were also not thriving in their previous location. The family likes to stay active by taking advantage of the city's walkable areas and bringing their dogs to the park.

She credits her weight loss to her diet, stating that she consumes a balanced and healthy mix of foods. She mentions that she follows a protein-rich diet, which she is successful at sticking to 90% of the time because it benefits her health.

As a Texas native, Clarkson humorously stated that she enjoys meat and apologizes to all the vegetarians out there.

The singer decided to move to New York and also relocated her TV show there after her divorce from Brandon Blackstock was finalized in early 2022.
