  • by

During a recent episode of her talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson shared that she was told she was at risk for developing diabetes before she decided to lose weight. However, she did not immediately take action to address this health concern.

"I was informed that I was at risk of developing diabetes. That's basically what happened," Clarkson explains to her guest, actor Kevin James from King of Queens. "I wasn't surprised. I was slightly above my ideal weight."

"They told me that I was at risk for developing diabetes, but I didn't take it seriously at first. After two years, I finally decided to take action."

Recently, Clarkson discussed how she lost weight by following her doctor's advice and changing her habits after moving to New York City. She mentioned that this lifestyle change helped her both mentally and physically.

She mentioned at that moment that she was feeling very dissatisfied in Los Angeles for a long time and was in need of a new beginning.

Clarkson moved her two children to the West Coast because they were also not thriving there. The family likes to stay active by taking advantage of the city's walkability and taking their dogs to the park.

She credits her weight loss to her diet, stating that she consumes a balanced and healthy mix of foods. She mentioned that she follows a protein-rich diet most of the time because it is beneficial for her health.

Clarkson jokingly stated that she, being from Texas, enjoys meat and apologizes to vegetarians everywhere for her preference.

Following her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, the singer made the decision to move and also shifted her TV show to New York in 2022.
