Jennifer Nettles, the host of the Fox show, acknowledges that the women on this season are displaying more intense emotions, energy, and responsiveness, which may result in some dramatic moments on the farm.
The second season of Farmer Wants a Wife will showcase four farmers from different parts of the United States as they search for their soulmates.
However, there is a unique element to this situation where each farmer will choose five women from a group of 29 to move in and experience life on the farm as a farmer's wife.
Get to know the farmers featured on the second season of Farmer Wants a Wife:
Ty Ferrell, aged 42, considers himself more of a cowboy than a farmer, as he works as a team roper on his 50-acre farm in Sikeston, Missouri. He raises horses and cattle and has been involved in roping and riding since he was a young child. Ferrell, who is one of the older farmers on the show, is a divorced father with a 12-year-old daughter. He is seeking a partner who can not only be his companion but also a caring mother figure for his child.
Mitchell Kolinsky, a 27-year-old farmer in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, is the first in his family to pursue farming. His large property has abundant wildlife and includes a historic cabin from the 19th century, where he resides with his three dogs. Kolinsky's upbringing around horses and his love for the outdoors inspired him to become a farmer. He now owns a farm with both horses and cattle.
Brandon Rogers, aged 29, manages a farm in Center, Colorado that spans 1,000 acres and grows potatoes and barley. Center is a small town with only one traffic light and is surrounded by agricultural land. Rogers is a second-generation farmer who grew up helping his father on the farm. He now runs the family business and aims to carry on the legacy his father began.
At 23 years old, Nathan Smothers comes from a long line of farmers in Bartow, Fla. He is a fourth-generation citrus and cattle farmer with a large property that includes 300 acres of farmland and over 500 acres for cattle. Despite his young age, Smothers has had to take on responsibilities beyond his years after losing his father when he was 12. He now helps take care of his mother and three sisters.
The second season of Farmer Wants a Wife will debut on Fox at 9PM ET on Thursday, February 1st.
