During a recent episode of her talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson shared that she was told she was at risk for developing diabetes before she started to lose weight. However, she did not start losing weight right away.
Clarkson admitted that she was informed that she was at risk for diabetes, which didn't come as a surprise to her since she knew she was slightly overweight. She shared this information with her guest, actor Kevin James, on her show.
"They told me that I was at risk for diabetes, but I didn't take it seriously at first. After two years, I finally decided to take action." She said, chuckling.
Clarkson recently mentioned that she lost weight by following her doctor's advice and moving to New York City helped her adopt healthier habits for both her mind and body.
"At that moment, she expressed that she had been feeling very dissatisfied in Los Angeles for a long time and was in need of a new beginning."
Clarkson moved her two children to the West Coast because they were also struggling. The family likes to stay active by walking around the city and taking their dogs to the park.
She credits her weight loss to her diet, stating that she consumes a balanced and healthy mix of foods. She mentioned that she is able to stick to her diet about 90 percent of the time because she believes a high protein diet is beneficial for her overall health.
"I come from Texas, so I have a preference for meat – my apologies to all the vegetarians out there!" Clarkson humorously commented.
After her divorce from Brandon Blackstock was finalized in early 2022, the singer made the decision to move to New York and also relocate her TV show.
